Cookie is, by his own account, deeply against the entire concept of being touched. Baths, teeth brushing, anything involving his face: all treated as a personal betrayal. He’s compliant once he’s actually in the bath, but getting him there is always a small negotiation, and brushing his teeth is its own daily battle since he hates his face being handled full stop.
We still do it anyway, because I would rather risk the occasional nip than watch his teeth go downhill. Small dog, enormous personality, and he makes sure you know exactly how he feels about the whole ordeal.
Every six to eight weeks he goes to the groomers for the full spa treatment: blueberry face mask, professional teeth clean, and he comes home smelling incredible and looking thoroughly pleased with himself. Everything below is what gets us through the weeks in between, keeping him as clean, comfortable, and cavity free as possible without turning it into a daily fight neither of us needs.
Fun fact: he is somehow more cooperative for the groomer, a total stranger, than he ever is for us.
